How Ducks Stay Dry
2nd Oct 2023
Last Friday in Science we learned all about how ducks stay dry. We were amazed to see that ducks and most birds have a preen gland located at the base of the tail. They take oil from this help make their feathers water repellant.
We carried out an experiment to show the hydrophobic properties of oil by making a moving mixture with oil, water and salt.
